Kayaking at the End of the World

One of the most active and authentic ways to explore Ushuaia is from the water, aboard a kayak or canoe. This activity allows you to explore unique natural environments from a different perspective, with guided tours tailored to different experience levels.

Trips include circuits through Tierra del Fuego National Park, Escondido Lake, the Lapataia River, and the Beagle Channel. Depending on the excursion chosen, you can paddle on calm waters surrounded by native forests, cross rivers with mountain views, or even reach the remote Gable Island.

Many options combine paddling with hiking, environmental interpretation, and local wildlife viewing. These trips are organized by licensed providers, with specialized guides and all the necessary equipment, making them suitable for both beginners and those seeking a greater challenge.

Located in the southernmost tip of Argentina, the Beagle Channel is one of Ushuaia's main tourist attractions. Cruising its waters allows you to experience Tierra del Fuego's unique geography up close, with privileged views of the city, the mountains, and the Fuegian coast.

During the tour, it's common to visit iconic spots such as Bird Island and Sea Lion Island, home to cormorants, sea lions, and other marine wildlife. Seasonally, some excursions also include landings on Martillo Island, where you can observe colonies of Magellanic and Gentoo penguins, always accompanied by specialized guides.

Sailing options are varied, from trips on large catamarans to more personalized sailing trips. All excursions depart from the tourist port of Ushuaia and offer varying durations and service levels.

One of the most anticipated moments of the tour is the arrival at the Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse, one of the symbols of the region, ideal for taking photographs and learning about part of the maritime history of the canal.

Sailing the Beagle is accessible to all ages and an excellent way to combine nature, wildlife observation, and the landscapes of Tierra del Fuego into a single experience.
